Cadets go on a 80 km march in just two days

From Friday 28th April-Sunday 30th April: Corporal Elbruda, Corporal Hayne, Cadet Sikora, Cadet Barton, Sargent Wilkinson and Corporal Genc attended the LaSER silver road marching event at St Martins Plain Camp in Folkestone. The weekend consisted of an evening briefing on Friday night, followed by two consecutive 40 km road marches on Saturday and Sunday.

In total they covered a distance of 80 km over the 2 days.

To conclude they received a medal and a silver road marching badge and celebrated their huge success. Even though it was a very physically demanding activity it was worthwhile for all of the cadets.

Here are what our cadets said:

Cadet Barton: ”It was a very difficult and tiring but really good experience and it helped me improve my team building skills.”

Corporal Genc: ”It’s an extraordinary experience and the team had a great sense of moral. The staff were also great and always ready to help.”

Corporal Hayne: ”An experience to fully test my endurance and push me out of my comfort zone to my limits.”

Cadet Sikora: “I found it difficult but it was really rewarding at the end.”
