Camp Windermere

Windermere 1st-8th April 2023

Last week Pilot Officer Long, Cdt Len,Cdt Woodhams,Sgt Wilkinson and Cpl Genc attended the 7 day long camp at Windermere. They took part in many activities including mountain biking, climbing, kayaking , gorge walking , Go Ape and hiking, and from the looks on their faces, they really enjoyed it! Here are what our cadets said:

“Throughout the week we did many different activities including several expeditions, mountain biking, rock climbing and kayaking which made each day very packed and exciting. My favourite activity was probably the gorge walking, as it was a great way to finish off the week, despite it being absolutely freezing. I would definitely recommend this camp to others as there are many opportunities to try out new activities, strengthen skills you already have in adventure training and meet new people.” – Cadet Len

”The activities we did were two day walks, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, go ape and gorge walking. My favourite part was the gorge walking, especially the jumps but it did get very cold. I would definitely recommend going as you can get a lot out of it and you can learn more from the adventure training.” – Cadet Woodhams

“The entire experience was amazing to see the cadets’ smiles and enjoying different activities and personally after 4 days of ‘Mountain Biking’ it was nice to walk up onto a mountain in this superior environment to then rest on the last day before heading home.” – Pilot Officer Long

The centre facility is a wonderful venue in a premium location. Not just those who went, but all the cadets and staff in the squadron want to go next year!
